CEC member meet executives of District, Township USDAs

Nay Pyi Taw, 6 March - Patron of the Shan State (North) Union
Solidarity and Development Association Chairman of Shan State (North) Peace and
Development Council Commander of North-East Command Maj-Gen Aung Than Htut and
Central Executive Committee member of the USDA Minister for Electric Power No 2
Maj-Gen Khin Maung Myint gave speeches at the teaching centre for matriculation
examination at Lashio Township USDA office on 1 March evening.
On 2 March morning, the Commander and the CEC member met with
executives of district and township USDAs at the meeting hall of Lashio Township
PDC and gave instructions on organizational matters.
The CEC member inspected progress in construction of the
extension of USDA office. The minister also inspected the construction of
66/33/11 KV (20 mva) sub-power station and the installation of the transformer
in Lashio.

Export
and Import Procedure Course concludes
Yangon, 6 March - The Export and Import Procedure Course No 32
organized by Directorate of Trade under the Ministry of Commerce concluded at
Directorate of Trade (Yangon branch) here on 3 March. The course was attended by
104 trainees and conducted from 21 January to 29 February. Deputy
Director-General U Myo Oo delivered an address and presented completion
certificates to the trainees.

Chairman visits UDNR
Nay Pyi Taw, 6 March - Chairman of Civil Service Selection and
Training Board Dr Than Nyun accompanied by members of CSSTB U Aung Myint, U Win
Aung, U Soe Oo, U Nyi Tun and U Kyaw Aung, visited University for Development of
National Races in Ywathitgyi of Sagaing Township yesterday morning.
The CSSTB Chairman inspected the 40th anniversary com-memorative
booth at Panglong Hall of the university, the nursery, the library and museum.
After hearing reports presented by Rector U Zaw Min Thein and officials, the
CSSTB Chairman gave necessary instructions to them.

Reminder
issued for new waterway
Nay Pyi Taw, 6 March - The Directorate of Water Resources and
Improvement of River System issued a reminder that waterways under
A new waterway between piers No 2 and No 3 for vessels sailing
upstream and another waterway between piers No 3 and No 4 for those sailing
downstream.
The clearance of the waterway is 345 feet wide and 36 feet high.
A green light triangle is fixed at the entrance to the waterway and a red light
triangle lighted for no entry. The parallel running of two vessels is to be
avoided while passing the clearance of the bridge.

Rules Enforcement Supervisory Committee meets
Nay Pyi Taw, 6 March-Nay Pyi Taw Traffic Rules Enforcement
Supervisory Committee held the meeting (8 / 2008) at the meeting hall of Nay Pyi
Taw Command on 29 February.
At the meeting, Patron of the committee Com-mander of Nay Pyi Taw
Command Maj-Gen Wai Lwin stressed the need to take more systematic measures for
traffic rules enforcement and provide services for punctual running of the bus
lines for the convenience of passengers.
Next, the commander read the minutes of the previous meeting. The
chairman of the Traffic Rules Enforcement Supervisory Committee explained the
tasks of traffic rules enforcement, condition of road accidents and enforcement
of traffic rules and regulations with added momentum.
Later, the committee and sub-committees reported on the tasks of
traffic rules enforcement and the commander gave necessary instructions.

CEC member supervises rural development tasks in Katha District
Nay Pyi Taw, 6 March - CEC member of the Union Solidarity and
Development Association Minister for Sports Brig-Gen Thura Aye Myint met local
people in Hsegyi Village of Wuntho Township on 2 March and presented exercise
books and sports equipment to them.
The CEC member attended the ceremony to open the rural
development camp in Kyaukaik Village of Htigyaing Township and provided one TV
set, 25 bags of cement and sports equipment to officials.

Next, Pagoda Board of Trustees Ovadacariya Sayadaw Bhaddanta
Arsara preached a surmon and the congregation shared merits gained.
