Vice-Chairman of SPDC Vice-Senior General Maung Aye visits modern oil refinery in Jamnagar of India

NAY PYI TAW, 8 April -Vice-Chairman of the State Peace and Development Council Vice-Senior General Maung Aye and party, while at Jamnagar, Gujarat State of India, visited petrochemical plants, and freshwater processing plants of Reliance Jamnagar Complex of Reliance Industries Ltd, which was carrying out the tasks of greening the environments, on 4 April.

They were welcomed there by SC Malhotra, Vice-Chairman of the Reliance Industries Ltd, and the officials.

At the Learning Centre, official concerned explained, with the use of audiovisual aids, measures taken for building of Reliance Refinery and greening of its environments after preparing for the once-barren land.

Next, Vice-Senior General Maung Aye and party visited main control room of the plant and viewed the factories including oil refineries, staff quarters and parks, systematic growing of plants and Reliance Mart.

Reliance Co is a private company of India and the oil refinery in Jamnagar can refine 0.66 million barrels of crude oil per day and is manufacturing oil products such as petrol, diesel, and other petrochemical products.

Later, Vice-Senior General Maung Aye and party arrived back at Jamnagar Airport to leave for Karnataka State and they were seen off there by officials concerned.

Vice-Senior General Maung Aye and party got to the Bangalore Airport in Karnataka State at 6 pm.

Vice-Senior General Maung Aye visits ISRO, ISSC in India

NAY PYI TAW, 8 April-Vice-Chairman of the State Peace and Development Council Vice-Senior General Maung Aye and party visited a department under the Indian Space Research Organization-ISRO in Bangalore , India , on 5 April.

When they arrived at ISTRAC under ISRO, they were welcomed by Director of the department Shiva Kumar and officials.

At the meeting hall of the department, Director Shiva Kumar extended greetings and briefed them on functions of the department including controlling satellites and research work, satellites being put into orbit that are to be rented to congenial countries and organizations.

Director Shiva Kumar answered queries raised by Minister for Science and Technology U Thaung and other members of the delegation.

Afterwards, Vice-Senior General Maung Aye and party visited the space control centre. Officials concerned conducted them around the department. Vice-Senior General Maung Aye signed in the Visitors' Book after visiting the department.

Afterwards, Vice-Senior General Maung Aye and party also went to Indian Space Satellite Centre (ISSC) of India Space Research Organization (ISRO) where they were welcomed by Joint Secretary of ISRO Shri Ranganath and officials.

At the meeting hall, officials concerned briefed them on the department's satellite services, launching satellites into space and satellite communication and surveying systems.

Afterwards, Vice-Senior General Maung Aye exchanged souvenirs with Shri Ranganath and viewed the booth of Indian Space Satellite Centre (ISSC).

Vice-Senior General Maung Aye and party arrived at Banglore Airport to leave for Varanasi .

They were seen off at the airport by Secretary of the diplomatic affairs Syad Zamir and local authorities.

Vice-Senior General Maung Aye visits Varanasi, Migadawon in India

NAY PYI TAW, 8 April -The Myanmar goodwill delegation led by Vice-Chairman of the State Peace and Development Council Vice-Senior General Maung Aye visited pagodas in Varanasi and Migadawon , India , on 5 April.

When they arrived at the airport in Varanasi , they were welcomed by District Justice Mrs Veena, District Police Chief Shri Shirodkar and Myanmar Consul-General U Soe Paing.

First, they went to Migadawon by car and visited Dhamma Razika Pagoda which was constructed at the site where Buddha delivered the first sermon to the first five monks. During the visit, they offered flowers, lights, water and joss sticks to the pagoda and Sayadaw of Migadawon ( Myanmar ) Monastery Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotika Dhaja Bhaddanta Wunna Dhaja delivered a sermon.

Afterwards, the delegation visited the Migadawon where Buddha entered first rain-retreat, the stone inscription of King Siri Dhamma Asoka and the site of old Nandiya Monastery where Buddha entered first rain-retreat.

During the visit, Vice-Senior General Maung Aye and wife Daw Mya Mya San offered flowers, lights, water and joss sticks to Dhammae Kha Pagoda which was constructed at the site where Buddha delivered the second sermon to the first five monks.

Vice-Senior General Maung Aye and wife Daw Mya Mya San donated cash to Sayadaw Bhaddanta Wunna Dhaja and the Sayadaw presented a Buddha statue and books published to mark the centenary of Myanmar Monastery in Migadawon.

Afterwards, Vice-Senior General Maung Aye and party visited the pagoda clock-wise and posed for documentary photos there.

The goodwill delegation also visited Sri Lanka Monastery and offered flowers, lights, water and joss sticks to the Buddha Image at the pagoda and donated cash to Sayadaw of the monastery Bhaddanta Sumedha to be spent on religious tasks. The Sayadaw presented a Buddha statue to Vice-Senior General Maung Aye.

Afterwards, Vice-Senior General Maung Aye and party signed in the Visitors' Book of the monastery.

Myanmar delegation left Varanasi for Gaya by flight. During the visit to Gaya , they visited Maha Bodhi Pagoda constructed by King Siri Dhamma Asoka.

First, Vice-Senior General Maung Aye and members of the delegation offered flowers, lights, water and joss sticks to the Buddha Image inside the Pagoda, and visited it clock-wise. They also visited Aparajita Throne and Bodhi Tree under which Buddha gained enlightenment.

Vice-Senior General Maung Aye meets Governor Mr Rameshwar Thakur

NAY PYI TAW, 8 April-Vice-Chairman of the State Peace and Development Council Vice-Senior General Maung Aye and wife Daw Mya Mya San on 4 April arrived at Raj Bhawan in Bangalore , Kanataka State , India and met with Governor Mr Rameshwar Thakur.

On arrival at Raj Bhawan, Vice-Senior General Maung Aye and wife Daw Mya Mya San were greeted by Governor Mr Rameshwar Thakur and wife.

At the meeting hall, Vice-Senior General Maung Aye and Governor Mr Rameshwar Thakur discussed matters on mutually beneficial interests.

Next, Governor Mr Rameshwar Thakur and wife hosted a dinner to Vice-Senior General Maung Aye and wife.

Present on the occasion together with Vice-Senior General Maung Aye and wife were Secretary-1 of the State Peace and Development Council Lt-Gen Thiha Thura Tin Aung Myint Oo and wife, member of the SPDC Lt-Gen Tin Aye and others.

Present together with Governor Mr Rameshwar and wife were the Indian ambassador and officials.

After the dinner, Governor Mr Rameshwar presented gifts to Vice-Senior General Maung Aye.

Vice-Senior General Maung Aye offers Shwekyathingan and dawn meal to Buddha image of Maha Bodhi Pagoda

NAY PYI TAW, 8 April-Vice-Chairman of the State Peace and Development Council Vice-Senior General Maung Aye and wife Daw Mya Mya San on 6 April morning offered Shwekyathingan (robes) and dawn meals to the Buddha images kept at the Maha Bodhi Pagoda and visited the seven places where the Buddha sojourned for seven days each just after enlightenment.

Vice-Senior General Maung Aye and wife Daw Mya Mya San arrived at the Maha Bodhi Pagoda in the Bodh Gaya Maha Auspicious Ground at 5 am, and paid reverence and offered Shwekyathingan to the Buddha image kept in Gandhakuti Chamber.

They also offered alms food, fruit, flowers, lights, water and joss sticks to the image.

Vice-Senior General Maung Aye and wife and members of the Myanmar goodwill delegation contemplated the Supreme Attributes of the Buddha and took the Five Precepts.

Vice-Senior General Maung Aye made cash donations for maintenance of the Maha Bodhi Pagoda to Sayadaw Bhaddanta Charindara, in-charge of the Committee for Maintenance of the pagoda, who then gave a picture of the Maha Bodhi Pagoda to him.

Vice-Senior General Maung Aye and wife Daw Mya Mya San offered alms food, flowers, water, lights and joss sticks and paid homage to the bronze Buddha image kept in front of the Maha Bodhi Tree and the golden altar, which was donated by Chairman of SPDC Senior General Than Shwe and wife Daw Kyaing Kyaing.

Vice-Senior General Maung Aye and party paid respects to the Bodhi Tree and the altar, Pallanka Sattaha among the seven places in the compound of the Bodh Gaya Maha Bodhi Pagoda.

Next, they paid homage to Cinkama Sattaha Yadana Singyan (platform) and the Buddha image at the Maha Bodhi Pagoda.

Vice-Senior General Maung Aye viewed the site of Rajayatana Sattaha Linlun tree, and observed the tree planted by Myanmar .

He viewed the obelisk of King Asoka, and Muncalinda Sattaha of Muncalinda Lake , and fed the fishes in the lake.

They viewed the park built for convenience of those pilgrims practicing meditation in Bodh Gaya.

They visited Animitta Sattaha, Yatana Ghara Sattaha, and Hseikkyaung Bayan Tree, where they were conducted round the site by Sayadaw Bhaddanta Nagavamsa of Bodh Gaya Maha Aungmye Monastery.

Next, Vice-Senior General Maung Aye and party had documentary photos taken in front of the monastery.

A ceremony to set up trust fund for eight requisites, alms food and sundry needs of the Myanmar monks residing in India took place at the Myanmar monastery in Gaya at 9.30.

Vice-Senior General Maung Aye and wife Daw Mya Mya San attended the ceremony and offered alms to the monks.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of 21 Myanmar monks from Kusinayon, Baranasi, Nalanda, Savatti, Pattana, Maha Bodhi, Kanbawza and Maha Aungmye monasteries led by Myanmar monastery Sayadaw Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Bhaddanta Ņaninda Raninda.

It was also attended by SPCD Secretary-1 Lt-Gen Thiha Thura Tin Aung Myint Oo and wife, SPDC member Lt-Gen Tin Aye, Lt-Gen Myint Swe of the Ministry of Defence, Lt-Gen Myint Hlaing and Lt-Gen Ye Myint of the Ministry of Defence, Kachin State PDC Chairman Northern Command Commander Maj-Gen Ohn Myint, Sagaing Division PDC Chairman North-West Command Commander Brig-Gen Myint Soe, ministers, senior military officers from the Ministry of Defence, and departmental heads.

Next, Vice-Senior General Maung Aye and wife and the congregation received the Five Precepts from Myanmar Monastery Sayadaw Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Bhaddanta Ņaninda. Then the Sayadaw and members of the Sangha recited parittas.

Secretary-1 Lt-Gen Thiha Thura Tin Aung Myint Oo supplicated on matters related to the setting up of trust fund for the Myanmar monks and nuns who are residing in some regions of India including Bodh Gaya and the members of the Sangha who are learning Theravada Buddhist literature. Vice-Senior General Maung Aye and wife Daw Mya Mya San offered the eight requisites donated by the SPDC to the Sayadaw.

Afterwards, the Secretary-1 and wife Daw Khin Saw Hnin and delegation members and Myanmar entrepreneurs also offered the eight requisites to the members of the Sangha.

Then followed the ceremony to set up trust fund. The Secretary-1 presented the cash donated by the SPDC to Myanmar Ambassador U Kyi Thein, Chairman of the management executive committee ( India ) of Sasana Nuggaha Association. Minister for Science and Technology U Thaung also presented the cash donated by the Myanmar goodwill delegation to the ambassador. UMFCCI President U Win Myint presented the cash donated by the Myanmar entrepreneurs to the ambassador. Vice-Senior General Maung Aye supplicated on religious matters to the members of the Sangha. Then Myanmar Monastery Sayadaw delivered a sermon followed by sharing merits gained. After the ceremony Vice-Senior General Maung Aye and wife and party offered meals to the Sayadaw and members of the Sangha.

The Myanmar delegation members went to Gaya Airport , India , to return home at 1 pm. They were seen off by Ambassador U Kyi Thein and embassy staff and regional leaders of India . Vice-Senior General Maung Aye and party arrived back here in the afternoon.

Eye patients receive free treatment in Nay Pyi Taw Pyinmana District

NAY PYI TAW, 7 April ? A ceremony to mark successful com-pletion of providing free medical care to eye patients in Nay Pyi Taw Pyinmana District was held at the 300-bed hospital here today.

CEC Member of Union Solidarity and Development Associa-tion Minister for Transport Maj-Gen Thein Swe and Deputy Minister for Health Dr Mya Oo delivered speeches at the ceremony.

At the cere-mony, wellwishers donated cash to the patients. Secretary of Nay Pyi Taw Pyinmana District USDA U Khin Maung Htay accepted K 1 million presented by Dr Daw Khin Hsan Nwe, Head of the Administration Depart-ment of MWAF donated by Myanmar Women's Affairs Federation and K 30 million donated by U Aung Myat of Mother Trading Co Ltd and Maung Maung and wife Daw Mi Mi Hlaing of Moe-htet-kabar Company.

Eye patients in Nay Pyi Taw received eye surgery under the programme of providing free medical treatment to eye patients organized by Union Solidarity and Development Associa-tion in cooperation with Ministry of Health and social organi-zations.

Lucky draw for Yathahman Yum Yum Noodles held

YANGON , 8 April-As a gesture of hailing Myanmar New Year, Yathacho Industries Ltd held lucky draw for its Yathahman Yum Yum Noodles in conjunction with the prize-presentation ceremony at the Traders Hotel here yesterday.

General Manager of Yathacho Industries Ltd U Tint Aung extended greetings and Marketing Manager U Ye Myat Htoo explained the salient points of the prize-presentation ceremony to mediamen and guests.

Talks on Brand & Branding held

YANGON , 8 April - The committee for improvement of information and technology under the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry conducted talks at UMFCCI on 5 April.

First, Vice-President U Zaw Min Win of UMFCCI delivered a speech. Next, Professor Dr Daw Khin San Yi of Institute of Economics ( Yangon ) gave talks on Brands and Branding and replied to the queries raised by the attendees.

After the talks, Vice-President U Win Aung presented gifts to the executive of Access Spectrum Computer Sales and Services Co Ltd.
