Myanma Gems Emporium selling quality jade, gem, pearl lots

YANGON, 30 March — The 42nd Myanma Gems Emporium will sell a large number of quality jade, gem and pearl lots through tender and auction systems, said Deputy Minister for Mines U Myint Thein today.

Deputy Minister U Myint Thein, Chairman of Myanma Gems Emporium Central Committee, was speaking to local and foreign journalist led by Deputy Minister for Information Brig-Gen Aung Thein, member of Information Committee of the State Peace and Development Council, at the auction hall of Myanma Gems Mart in Yangon.

Deputy Minister Brig-Gen Aung Thein also gave a speech. The MGECC chairman, Secretary Acting Managing Director of Myanma Gems Enterprise U Thein Swe and central committee members replied to queries raised by the journalists. Deputy Minister U Myint Thein gave the concluding remarks.

The journalists also viewed polished jade and gem, jewellery and jade figurines of MGE to be sold at fixed prices and visited private jewellery and mosaic shops on the ground floor, and observed commercial, utility and imperial jade blocks, other jade blocks in the compound of the mart, and gem and pearl lots to be sold through auction on the top floor.

1,220 gem merchants arrive to attend Myanma Gems Emporium

YANGON, 1 April — Chairman of the Central Committee for Organizing the 42nd Myanma Gems Emporium Deputy Minister for Mines U Myint Thein this afternoon cordially greeted local and foreign gem merchants who were checking jade lots around the ground floor of Myanma Gems Mart.

The deputy minister viewed sales of jade lots through tender system and left the mart in the evening.

A total of 1,220 gems merchants — 792 merchants of 277 companies from 12 countries and 428 merchants of 233 local companies— have arrived at the 42nd Myanma Gems Emporium.

They are 656 gem merchants of 220 companies from China, 15 merchants of seven companies from Singapore, 91 merchants of 33 companies from Thailand, five merchants of two companies from England, four merchants of two companies from the US, four merchants of two companies from Japan, one merchant of one company from Sri Lanka, seven merchants of four companies from Canada, six merchants of three companies from India, one merchant of one company from Korea, one merchant of one company from Australia and one merchant of one company from Belgium.

Jade lots will be sold through tender and auction systems from 2 to 4 April.

270 jade lots sold through tender system

YANGON, 2 April—Chairman of Myanma Gems Emporium Central Committee Deputy Minister for Mines U Myint Thein this morning inspected the sale of jade lots through tender system at the Myanma Gems Mart on Kaba Aye Pagoda Road where the 42nd Myanma Gems Emporium is being staged.

The deputy minister was welcomed there by Secretary of the Central Committee Acting Managing Director of Myanma Gems Enterprise U Thein Swe and central committee members.

Under the 42nd Myanma Gems Emporium programme, altogether 270 jade lots were sold today. The sale of jade lots continued this evening.

A total of 1,288 local and foreign gem merchants arrived to attend the gems emporium.

The sale of jade lots through tender system continues tomorrow.

42nd Myanma Gems Emporium continues

YANGON, 3 April — Patron of Central Committee for Organizing Myanma Gems Emporium Minister for Mines Brig-Gen Ohn Myint arrived at 42nd Myanma Gems Emporium-2005 being held at Myanma Gems Mart on Kaba Aye Pagoda Road this evening, who was welcomed by chairman of the Central Committee for Organizing Myanma Gems Emporium Deputy Minister for Mines U Myint Thein, Acting Managing Diretor of Myanma Gems Enterprise U Thein Swe and members.

After the minister had inspected lots of jade displayed at the gems mart, he viewed sales of lots of jade through competitive system, cordially greeted gems marchants and left there.

Mines Minister views Myanma Gems Emporium

YANGON, 4 April—Patron of Myanma Gems Emporium Central Committee Minister for Mines Brig-Gen Ohn Myint at 5 pm today arrived at the Myanma Gems Mart on Kaba Aye Pagoda Road where the 42nd Myanma Gems Emporium is being staged.

The minister was welcomed there by Chairman of Myanma Gems Emporium Central Committee Deputy Minister for Mines U Myint Thein, Secretary Acting Managing Director of Myanma Gems Enterprise U Thein Swe and central committee members.

The minister viewed the sale of jade lots through competitive bidding and left the venue in the evening.

The sale of jade lots through competitive bidding continued in the evening and altogether 20 jade lots were sold from 5 to 9.10 pm yesterday. A total of 500 jade lots were sold yesterday alone.

Under the 42nd Myanma Gems Emporium programme, the sale of jade lots through competitive bidding continued this morning and altogether 41 jade lots were sold as of 5 pm. The sale of the remaining jade lots continued until evening.

Minister Brig-Gen Ohn Myint presented mosaics and certificates of honour to a foreign gem merchant who attended the gems emporium for 30 consecutive years until the 42nd Myanma Gems Emporium and a foreign gem merchant who attended the gems emporium for 25 consecutive years until the 42nd Myanma Gems Emporium.

Next, officials presented certificates of honour to three foreign gem merchants who attended the gems emporium for 15 consecutive years and three foreign gem merchants who attended the gem emporium for 10 consecutive years up to the 42nd Myanma Gems Emporium.

Gems Empo sells 1,034 jade lots

Yangon, 5 April - Gem merchants bought 65 jade lots during the auction sales at the Gems Mart here from 5 pm yesterday to 1.30 am today. Yesterday alone saw the sale of 106 jade lots.

During the three-day sales from 2 to 4 March, the merchants bought 1,034 lots of jade. Merchants also bought 29 gem lots today, the fourth day of the 42nd Myanma Gems Emporium.

Minister for Mines Brig-Gen Ohn Myint also visited the emporium sponsored by Myanma Gems Emporium Central Committee today.

An official of the committee presented a gift to the highest bidder company.

Empo sells 1,198 jade, gem, pearl lots

YANGON, 7 April — Local and foreign merchants bought 1,198 lots of jade, gems and pearls at the 42nd Myanma Gems Emporium which ended today.

The merchants including 892 of 317 companies of 15 foreign countries bought 1,034 jade lots from 2 to 4 April, 29 gem lots on 5 April and 135 pearl lots today.

A total of 461 merchants of 258 local companies also attended the emporium which was held at Myanma Gems Mart here from 2 to 7 April. Sales were through tender and auction systems.
