(MICS)

 

 

 

Myanma Industrial Construction Services was established in 1975 as Technical Services Corporation under the Ministry of Industry (2). Since then it had constructed many industrial buildings as well as supervised the installation of machinery and equipment. Among the large industries constructed were fertilizer factories, Yeni Pulp and Paper Plant and the heavy industries factories under the Ministry of Industry (2). Many other buildings including religious buildings, education institutes and schools and those of the private sector had been constructed by MICS.

 

Functions

The MICS's functions are mainly for the construction of factories and other buildings pertaining to the State sector's industrial project, joint venture companies and also for private sector's new industrial projects. In addition, it undertakes projects for extension and renovation of existing industrial structures. In accordance with the market economic system,  MICS has to compete with other governmental construction organizations as well as those of the private sector. Its functions are generally the same as those of other industrial enterprises under the Ministry of Industry (2) except that it is not concerned with industrial  production activities. Its financial and budgetary planning is based on forecasts of construction contracts likely to be entered into in the year.

 

Organization

Similar to other production enterprises under the Ministry of Industry (2),  MICS is headed by a Managing Director, assisted by Directors.

Scope of Works

The MICS is capable of undertaking the following works:

-    Drafting project proposals and making feasibility studies 

-    Design

-    Civil engineering works for industrial projects

-    Construction of buildings for commercial, social and religious purposes and

      construction  of bridges.

-    Technical and economic consultancy

-    Installation and test operations of machinery and equipment

-    Repair and maintenance of factories

-    Earth works using heavy equipment

 

The assigned works shall be of high quality standard, excellent workmanship and completion according to time schedule which are essential for the customer's full satisfaction.
