Myanmar Mission categorically rejects the misleading remarks on Myanmar made by the Spokesperson for the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights at the bi-weekly press briefing on 17 November 2023

  • The Permanent Mission of Myanmar in Geneva has categorically rejected the misleading remarks on Myanmar by sending a response letter to the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights regarding the recent clashes of the armed groups led by MNDAA and its affiliates namely TNLA and AA committing coordinated attacks against civilian population and security forces in north-eastern part of Shan State and Rakhine State made by the Spokesperson for the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights at the bi-weekly press briefing on 17 November 2023.
  • The letter conveys its strong objection to the remarks made by the Spokesperson highlighting that Myanmar has exercised its legitimate rights to counter the terror acts and its security have been taking necessary counter measures to restore peace and stability and public security of the affected areas.
